The goal was a vaginal birth, this mama wanted to avoid an epidural because she had read about the side effects and really wanted to be able to feel everything. She labored and rested and labored and rested for about 12 hours and then suddenly her labor kicked into act labor and it was time to push. She went from a 7 to pushing in about 30 minutes.
When I got the call at 12am I ran to my bag, jumped in the car and got to the hospital as fast as I could. I ran down the halls of the ER entrance and then down the next hall of labor and delivery. I had one camera out and ready and started taking pictures as soon as I got there. This baby was born about 45 minutes after I got there and these two were so elated with love and newborn energy.
