When this gorgeous mama asked me to take pictures of her family I was honored. She is a fellow photographer and I always think that always means a lot. When she came in for our consultation she told me about Liam, their youngest boy, who was born with Lissencephaly (meaning smooth brain) and he was just nominated to have a wish granted by Make-A-Wish foundation. This family had never had family photos done before and they choose me to show who they were as a family. I talked to Mandy about all the things that they love to do together and we decided to make a fun scene for them to interact and play in. We set up a teepee with Liams quilt that he always takes with him into the hospital, along with a few books and some hot cocoa. The session turned out magical. I got so emotional editing I had to stop a few times thinking how much they are a walking lesson on strength and love. One thing that Mandy said to me during our consultation was that she has always known she is going to have to burry her child, but that while he is here they will continue to check off their family bucket list so that Liam will get to experience as much as possible. I love that. I hope you all have a bucket list that you are ticking off with your kiddos. No matter what the time goes by too fast.
